NLM Informatics Training Conference 2009

Research Presentations

Trainee research will be presented at this meeting in three different formats.

  • Plenary sessions. We expect that 18 papers will be presented to the entire assembly. Each plenary presentation will be no more than 15 minutes, including questions. We plan to organize the plenaries around four training themes: health care informatics; bioinformatics/computational biology; clinical research translational informatics; and public health informatics.

  • Focus sessions. We expect that approximately 21 papers will be presented in parallel sessions. For focus sessions, each presentation will be no more than 15 minutes, including questions. Focus sessions will emphasize common techniques and sub-domains of interest within the four training themes of health care informatics; bioinformatics/computational biology; clinical research translational informatics; and public health informatics.

  • Poster sessions. There will be specific 'protected' periods of time allocated during the conference for trainees to present their research in poster format. Posters will be grouped thematically by the four training themes.
